Nepal is home to some of the best whitewater rafting in the world!
Very few places in the world can match the thundering course of the rivers of Nepal originating from the snow meltdown of the Himalayan terrain. The rivers gush through twisted canyons, winding through calm valleys where small settlements are perched on the southern plains to merge with the sea.
The combination of mountain scenery, rich cultural heritage and white-sand beaches, rafting in Nepal has become extremely popular in recent years. Modern rafts, experienced staff and well maintained equipment means that even complete beginners can safely enjoy most of Nepal’s rivers as they fall into the grade 1 to 4 category.
On all our rafting trips we are accompanied by experienced guides, who all had extensive training in both Nepal and abroad (United States and Europe). Safety is and has always been the first priority at iTrekNepal and our partner in rafting is the only company which trains staff to the level of SRT (Swift Water Rescue Technician), CPR and Wilderness First Aid. For safety issues there will be always be at least two kayakers in the water around the rafts as well. All equipment used is state of the art. We use specially designed Avon Mark XI self bailing rafts, which are the best available. The divided separate air compartments make sure that if there is a puncture of one, the boat is still manoeuvrable and completely functioning.
Note
Make sure your travel insurance covers whitewater rafting.
